Following a divided response to the film’s premiere, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Director James Mangold has a strong defense. Harrison Ford’s final adventure in the iconic franchise sees his eponymous archaeologist team up with his goddaughter to acquire the titular device before it falls into the hands of a former Nazi scientist. Along with Ford, for the ensemble cast Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Among others are Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook and Toby Jones.
In honor of the upcoming release of the movie, diversity James Mangold was caught discussing it Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. When asked about the mixed reviews at an early screening of the Ford franchise ending, the director took a firm stand to defend his effort, feeling that some critics went into it with negative expectations or an agenda from their publications. When you live in franchise land, it’s very difficult for critical thinkers [meaning journalists] I’m sure what their editors want to ignore, which is how this business prism rates it to others? I always thought if I was the second or third best of all time movies I would be fine. I mean, it vaporizes after all. Either the movie will be live or it won’t.
